Since the inception of Industry 4.0 in 2012, emerging technologies have enabled acquisition vast amounts data from diverse sources such as machine tools, robust and affordable sensor systems with advanced information models, other within Smart Manufacturing Systems (SMS). As a result, amount that is available manufacturing settings has exploded, allowing data-hungry tools Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine Learning (ML) to be leveraged. Time-series analytics been successfully applied variety industries, success now being migrated pattern recognition applications support higher quality products, zero defect manufacturing, improved customer satisfaction. However, landscape presents challenge for solving problems industry using time-series recognition. The resulting research gap understanding applying subject matter major limiting factor adoption industry. purpose this paper provide structured perspective current state problem-solving focus. By an ontology classify define concepts, how they are structured, their properties, relationships between them, considerations when aims practical actionable guidelines application recommendations advancing analytics.
